Joshua Báez had a historic day for the Cardinals on Saturday, becoming the first player in MLB history to hit three home runs in his MLB debut.
During this monumental achievement, Báez had the support of his family, baseball at large and the Cardinals' organization, including his recent teammates on the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds.
As Báez was about to connect with his third home run, St. Louis prospect Jurrangelo Cijntje (MLB Pipeline’s No. 12 Cardinals’ prospect) had his phone camera rolling to capture this historic moment. As the ball cleared the right-field wall into the Wrigley Field bleachers, Báez’s former Redbirds teammates went ballistic, similar to how most of the baseball world probably felt watching on Saturday.
It was a moment that Báez and members of the Redbirds will remember forever.
