Bohm, Duran among Phils tendered deals ahead of deadline

Marchán, Stubbs agree to contracts, while Philly claims OF León off waivers

November 21st, 2025

PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies offered no surprises before Friday’s 5 p.m. ET non-tender deadline.

The club tendered deals to arbitration-eligible players Tanner Banks, Alec Bohm, Jhoan Duran, Jesús Luzardo, Brandon Marsh, Edmundo Sosa and Bryson Stott. Catchers Rafael Marchán and Garrett Stubbs each agreed to terms on contracts for next season. A source said Marchán will be paid $850,000. Stubbs will be paid $925,000 if he is in the big leagues, and $575,000 if he is in the Minors.

Right-handed relievers Michael Mercado and Daniel Robert were non-tendered, making them free agents.

Both Marchán and Stubbs are out of options in 2026, meaning there will be a roster crunch if J.T. Realmuto re-signs with the team. Marchán was Realmuto’s backup in 2025, in part because he was out of options, while Stubbs had one option remaining.

Stubbs spent most of the 2025 season with Triple-A Lehigh Valley before joining the Phillies in September.

Philadelphia on Friday also claimed outfielder Pedro León, 27, off waivers from the Orioles. Baltimore claimed León from Houston on Nov. 6, then designated him for assignment on Tuesday.

León, who hits right-handed, had 21 plate appearances with the Astros in 2024. He was limited to 25 games this season in the Minor Leagues because of a MCL sprain in his left knee. But Leon had 17, 21 and 24 homers with Triple-A Sugar Land in 2023, ’24 and ’25, respectively.
