Terrell Owens has done it all. The former NFL wide receiver is in football's Hall of Fame. He's acted in movies and was a three-sport star in college, even appearing in the NCAA basketball tournament. What he hasn't done is play baseball for the Phillies -- until now. The former Eagles wideout is joining Phillies legend Jimmy Rollins and AUSL star Tiare Jennings for MLBx: 3-on-3, a modified co-ed home run derby that rewards players for home runs and defensive plays, on July 12 at Citizens Bank Park.
Owens won't be the only NFL star out there, either: He'll be going up against DeVonta Smith, too. He's looking forward to facing off.
"I've always loved competition, no matter the sport," Owens said. "Baseball was my first love growing up, so getting the opportunity to share the field with Jimmy Rollins and be part of MLBx is something I'm really excited about. Expect us to put on a show.”

MLBx rewards players for defensive catches and home runs. Players can also earn their teams bonus points by collecting bonus points by hitting balls through the center-field target beyond the outfield fence or calling for a hot streak of five balls where offensive and defensive points count double. At the end of the game, the team with the most points win.
