Team to watch
Both A-ball affiliates, Clearwater and Jersey Shore, have seven Top 30 prospects each, but let’s give the BlueClaws the edge because they have five of the top 10 guys on their roster, starting with Top 100 right-hander Mick Abel and including dynamic center fielder Johan Rojas.

New faces
William Bergolla was No. 4 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 50 international prospects list and the Phillies signed him right at the start of the period, on January 15 of this year, for $2.05 million. Bergolla’s dad played pro ball, including reaching the big leagues with the Reds, and the younger Bergolla will start following in his father’s footsteps in the Dominican Summer League.

On the shelf
Outfielder/first baseman Jordan Viars, the team’s third-round pick in last year’s Draft, has a ton of raw power and the ability to play multiple positions. He’s coming back from a sprained ankle and is building back up in extended spring training, but should be back getting at-bats in a few weeks.
