What’s Happening This Weekend: Phillies vs. Marlins, September 8-10

Special on-field ceremony at Saturday’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Night presented by Nemours Children’s Health; Plus, GIANT Family Day with Block Party on Sunday and Phillies Home Run Derby champions recognized; Also, limited tickets available for Schwarber’s Block Party at Yards Brewing Company

Only two homestands remain for the regular season! Here are some of the fan highlights surrounding this weekend’s games against the Miami Marlins at Citizens Bank Park:

1. On Friday, September 8, be on the lookout for summer campers from Phillies Baseball Academy, as they parade around the warning track before that night’s 7:05 p.m. game.

  • Plus, there will be a pregame meet and greet with PEANUTS™ character Snoopy behind section 210.

2. In an effort to raise awareness for childhood cancer, the Phillies are teaming up with Nemours Children’s Health for Childhood Cancer Awareness Night on Saturday, September 9, at that evening’s 6:05 p.m. game against the Marlins.

  • Be in your seats by 5:30 p.m. for the ballpark-wide Go Gold on-field event, featuring heartwarming moments and once-in-a-lifetime experiences for families affected by cancer. Click here for a full lineup of events, which includes a Go Gold Ribbon in center field, ceremonial home run and first pitches, dances with the Phanatic, honorary base changes and more.
  • Participants include those receiving treatment from Nemours Children’s and other area hospitals, as well as those families affiliated with the Kisses for Kyle Foundation.
  • Also taking part will be Christie and Chris Phelan, who started the Corey’s Promise foundation after losing their son Corey, a Phillies minor league pitcher, to cancer last October at the age of 20. Fans will be able to support Corey’s Promise, which provides financial assistance to families affected by cancer, by purchasing T-shirts at the First Base Plaza.
  • During the 7th inning stretch, fans will be invited to stand and hold up a placard to honor those who are fighting or have fought cancer.
  • Plus, that night’s Phillies Charities, Inc. 50/50 Drawing will benefit the Nemours Foundation.
  • Also, the first 2,000 fans to purchase a Theme Night tickets for this event will receive a voucher for an exclusive Phillies Go Gold hat courtesy of Nemours Children’s Health.
  • In addition, as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness, volunteers and participants on-field will be wearing a custom Phanatic Go Gold friendship bracelet. A limited supply of these bracelets will also be available only at the New Era Phillies Team Store.
  • More highlights include a pregame Budweiser Block Party with DJ HBK at the Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar behind Section 148.

3. The Phillies close out the series with GIANT Family Day during the 1:05 p.m. game on Sunday, September 10! All children 14 and under will receive a GIANT Drawstring Cooler Bag.

  • From 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., head to Citizens Bank Way for the Giant Family Block Party featuring a 3D chalk art photo opportunity, dunk tank, face painting, a live DJ, as well as giveaways and tastings from Phillies partners including Citizens, SeatGeak, Philadelphia Zoo, Sesame Place, Coca-Cola, Herr’s, Philadelphia Water Ice and Prego!
  • Also pregame, the area’s top young sluggers who were winners of the Phillies Home Run Derby championship presented by Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach, REALTORS (held earlier that morning at Citizens Bank Park) will be recognized on-field.
  • Watch a live radio broadcast of the Baseball Insiders Show with Phillies’ John Brazer and 1993 National League champion Tommy Greene on 1490 WBCB, a Phillies radio affiliate, outside Pass and Stow near the Third Base Plaza from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

4. Plus, limited tickets remain for Sunday’s postgame Schwarber’s Block Party, 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Yards Brewing Company to benefit local first responders!

  • Come join the fun at this fun charity event as outfielder Kyle Schwarber and his teammates celebrate the sacrifices and bravery of police, fire departments and military, with 100% of funds raised to benefit local first responder organizations.   • Gate Openings: Gates open at 5:35 p.m. for Friday’s game, 4:35 p.m. for Saturday’s game, and 11:35 a.m. for Sunday’s game.
  • Broadcast: All three games will be broadcast on NBC Sports Philadelphia. Friday’s and Saturday’s games will be broadcast 94 WIP and WTTM 1680, while Sunday’s game will be on 1210 WPHT and WTTM 1680. All three games will also be available on com and the NBC Sports app. In addition, Sunday’s game will be broadcast on MLB Network (out of network).

  • Bag Policy: Guests are prohibited from bringing bags, including backpacks, to the ballpark. Only clutch purses (5" x 7"), fanny packs, medical bags, drawstring bags, clear or solid tote bags and diaper bags will be permitted. Medical bags, tote bags and diaper bags can be no larger than 16" x 16" x 8". Guests may discard or return the prohibited items to their vehicle or store them in a locker on Citizens Bank Way ($10 fee).
  • Uber RideShare Lot: Lot T is designated for Uber RideShare for all Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center events. Fans should exit the Third Base Gate and walk along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street to enter the lot and request a vehicle, which will meet each rider in the designated area.
