The luncheon will celebrate Pat Gillick, a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, who will be inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame on Saturday, August 4, during Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend.
Special guest appearances by members of the 2008 World Champion team, including Pat Burrell, Brad Lidge, Charlie Manuel, Jamie Moyer and Shane Victorino.
Gillick is currently in his 13th year with the Phillies. In that time, he has served as the team's general manager and president, and also as a senior advisor.
Pat originally joined the Phillies as senior vice president and general manager on November 2, 2005. During his time as GM, he built the club into back-to-back NL Eastern Division Champions (2007-08) and 2008 World Champions. The championship was the third of his 27-year career as a major league general manager and the second in the history of the Phillies franchise.
He was also elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in December 2010, becoming just the fourth individual elected whose career has been defined nearly exclusively as a team architect.
