Speedy, switch-hitting plus-plus infielder enjoyed his first Major League season...Made his MLB debut on March 30 at Cincinnati as a pinch runner in the ninth inning...Stole second base and scored the game-winning run on sacrifice fly...Played in 51 games, the third-most by a Rule 5 pick in Nationals history (2005-present), trailing only Jesús Flores (79 in 2007) and Tony Blanco (56 in 2005)...Had three outs above average, according to Baseball Savant and averaged 91.6 mph on his throws, third-hardest among MLB shortstops (min. 100 throws)...Recorded his first Major League hit, June 26 at San Diego (single off Tom Cosgrove)...Went 10-for-19 (.526) with a double, RBI, four walks, three stolen bases and eight runs in his next 19 games following that first hit...Hit .294 (15-for-51) with a .419 on-base percentage (11 BB, 12 SO) from June 26 through the end of the season.

Was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2023 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game as well as an Arizona Fall League Fall Star...Led the Southern League and ranked tied for third in all of Double-A with 52 stolen bases and was fourth with 87 walks in 125 games with Double-A Pensacola...Also ranked among Southern League hitters in runs (T1st, 84), walks (third, 87) and hits (10th, 110)...Finished the season batting .224 with 11 doubles, two triples, five homers, 43, RBI, 87 walks, 52 stolen bases and 84 runs scored...He appeared in 95 games at shortstop, 29 games at second base and two games as the designated hitter.

2022

Nasim Nunez, ranked as Miami’s No. 23 prospect by MLB Pipeline, finished 2022 with a combined 70 stolen bases, tied for third-most in the Minors and three short of the all-time Marlins Minor League record... In 85 games with High-A Beloit, posted a .390 on-base pct. and drew 71 walks. Hit 11 doubles, three triples, two home runs and had 49 stolen bases... Earned promotion to Double-A Pensacola where he played 38 games to finish the year and hit .261 with a .371 on-base pct... Named the Beloit Sky Carp 2022 Most Valuable Player and earned MiLB.com Organizational All-Star honors.
