UV lights and specially designed electronic devices, called bi-polar ionization units, have been installed in air conditioning units at Tropicana Field. These devices break down a wide variety of harmful contaminants, including coronavirus.
Air filters with a higher minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) rating, which more effectively trap small particles, have also been added throughout the ballpark.
Tropicana Field undergoes enhanced cleaning and sanitization before, during, and after each game to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19.
Fans are asked to practice frequent hand washing and utilize hand sanitizing stations.
All fans 2 years of age or older, including those who have been vaccinated, are required to wear a face mask inside Tropicana Field at all times. Face masks must completely cover the nose and mouth and must always be worn except when actively eating or drinking in the fan’s ticketed seat.
Gaiters, bandanas, masks with ventilation holes, and other versions of face coverings are not acceptable.
For specific questions regarding face masks, please email [email protected].
All attendees and staff are asked to be conscious of personal risk factors, including people with underlying conditions, who may be at risk of developing more serious complications from COVID-19.
All staff and vendors are screened for signs or symptoms of COVID-19 before each game and are trained in protocols to promote the health and safety of attendees.

FAN HEALTH PROMISE
COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus that can lead to severe illness and death. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present regardless of precautions that may be taken. Fans coming to games are subject to the terms and conditions at https://www.mlb.com/rays/tickets/disclaimer and must follow all ballpark policies, including health and safety rules, while at Tropicana Field.
To provide a safe environment for all fans, staff, players and coaches, all ticketholders must agree, on their own behalf and on behalf of minors and other accompanying parties, that they will not attend the game if on the day of the game or the fourteen (14) days prior to the day of the game:
- they tested positive or presumptively positive for COVID-19 or other communicable disease or were identified as a potential carrier of COVID-19 or other communicable disease.
- they experienced any symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19 or other communicable disease. These may include a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher; cough; shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; chills; repeated shaking; muscle pain; headache; sore throat; new loss of taste or smell.
- they were in direct contact with or in the immediate vicinity of any person who is confirmed or suspected of being infected with COVID-19 or other communicable disease.
Please note that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises that older adults and people of any age with underlying medical conditions are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 infection. Fans should evaluate their own risks in determining whether to attend games at Tropicana Field.
Ticketholders must also agree that tickets within a seating pod will not be sold or transferred to individuals not within their own household, unless selling or transferring all such game tickets, i.e., the full pod of tickets, in a single transaction.
