"Raising A Reds Fan" started on May 23, 2009 for us. When my husband Bob, and I went to the hospital to have our son, we walked the halls before we were admitted. Luckily, the Reds were playing the Cleveland Indians that night and it was on in the waiting rooms. Bob and I had watched the entire game as we circled the halls of the hospital. By the end of the game, it was time for me to finally be admitted.
The next day, Sunday, May 24th, our son was born...Robert Joseph Fischer, known as RJ. And, it just so happened, that the Reds were playing, and we had the game on in our room as a distraction. RJ was born as the Reds were earning a win over their in-state rivals from Cleveland. The Reds have been part of our lives ever since. Along the way, our fandom has brought us so much joy, and we are so happy to be raising our son as a Cincinnati Reds fan.
