Gibson, Brock specials to air next two weeks

October 19th, 2020

ST. LOUIS -- The Cardinals lost two baseball icons this year in Hall of Famers Bob Gibson and Lou Brock, and FOX Sports Midwest will pay tribute to both this week. Along with career highlights, their impact in St. Louis and on Cardinals baseball will also be discussed in the 30-minute TV specials.

“Remembering Gibby” will premiere at 8 p.m. CT on Monday, one day before the World Series begins. It looks back at Gibson’s life and career, with highlights like his 1968 National League MVP Award-winning season, his record-setting 17-strikeout game in the World Series and his '71 no-hitter. Gibson’s teammates -- including his friend and catcher Tim McCarver -- share stories about his impact on the Cardinals’ World Series teams.

“Remembering Lou” will debut at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, which is the first World Series off-day. Fans will see interviews with Brock in his post-career years as he reflected on his 3,023 hits, stolen base records and the 1964 World Series. There will be a portion of his Hall of Fame speech, and longtime teammate and friend Ozzie Smith will talk to FOX Sports Midwest reporter Jim Hayes about Brock and Cardinals baseball.

Cardinals broadcaster Dan McLaughlin will host both shows. Gibson’s special will also air again on Wednesday at 3:30 and 6 p.m., Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 1:30 p.m., Sunday at 11 a.m., Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. and Oct. 29 at noon.

Brock’s special is also slated again for Friday at 6:30 p.m., Sunday at 11:30 a.m., Oct 26 at 6:30 p.m. and Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m.
