ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have agreed to terms with their first three picks from the 2026 MLB Draft left-hander Gio Rojas, shortstop Connor Comeau and left-hander Brody Bumila.
Rojas, a University of Miami recruit, signed for a reported $4.6 million according to MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis. The slot value at the 16th overall pick was $5,051,900.
Rojas was MLB Pipeline’s No. 8 Draft prospect and the best prep pitcher in the class. The Rangers were more than pleased to see him available at No. 16. The 6-foot-4 lefty posted a 0.58 ERA across 72 innings with 124 strikeouts in his senior season at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. He helped the program to its sixth consecutive Florida Class 7A State championship, tossing 6 2/3 scoreless innings with a12-strikeout gem in the championship game.
Bumila, a University of Texas recruit, signed for an expected overslot $2.75 million, according to Callis. The slot 89 value was $900,800. He was expected to go in the first round before it was discovered that he needed another surgery to repair his UCL.
Bumila has already undergone one elbow surgery, an internal brace surgery in May 2025, though he bounced back for a stellar senior season in which the 6-foot-9, 255-pound left-hander went 6-0 with a 1.10 ERA and 106 strikeouts across 44.1 innings at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, Mass.
