SEATTLE -- One week after being taken with the No. 4 overall pick of the 2026 MLB Draft, right-hander Jackson Flora is officially a member of the Giants' organization.

Flora, a Bay Area native who emerged as the top-ranked pitcher in this year’s Draft class, signed with his hometown team for $7,997,500 on Saturday, according to MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis. The Giants have not confirmed the agreement.

The signing bonus was nearly $1 million below the $8,988,400 slot value for the fourth overall pick, giving the Giants more financial flexibility to hammer out deals with the rest of their 20 selections, including prep hurlers Carson Bolemon (a Competitive Balance pick who was taken at No. 29 overall) and Kaden Waechter (No. 55 overall).

Flora, 21, went 12-0 with a 1.06 ERA and a school-record 133 strikeouts over 102 innings in 16 starts for UC Santa Barbara this year.

The 6-foot-5 Flora has an impressive all-around profile and boasts an elite fastball (70 on the 20-80 scouting scale, per MLB Pipeline) that sits in the upper-90s and features good shape. He also throws a sharp gyro slider in the upper-80s, a slower sweeper that sits closer to 80 mph and a kick changeup.

“In our eyes, we thought he was the best college pitcher in the country,” Giants senior director of amateur scouting Michael Holmes said last week. “It’s a combination of size and athleticism, the way he moves on the mound. Obviously, we think his fastball plays velocity-wise, with the way it plays in the zone. Just an array of secondaries, with his two breaking balls and the kick-change. It’s just a real complete mix.”

Before enrolling at UCSB, Flora attended Foothill High School in Pleasanton, Calif., the same high school as former Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford. Like Crawford, Flora grew up cheering for the Giants and relished the opportunity to begin his pro career in the orange and black.

“This is really just a dream come true,” Flora said last week. “I still haven't quite wrapped my head around it, but I'm stoked.”

The Giants will have until July 27 to sign the rest of their 2026 Draft class.
