Giants calling up No. 1 prospect Eldridge and C/3B Rodriguez (source)

The Giants are making a big shakeup to their MLB roster.

The club is calling up both Bryce Eldridge (club's No. 1 prospect and No. 20 overall, per MLB Pipeline) and Jesus Rodriguez (club’s No. 18 prospect), a source told MLB.com's Maria Guardado. The team has not confirmed the news.

The 21-year-old Eldridge was the No. 16 overall pick in the 2023 Draft before immediately blossoming into one of the best power hitters in the Minors. In 30 games with Triple-A Sacramento this year, Eldridge has a .963 OPS and five home runs. He hit 25 home runs with an .843 OPS across three levels last season and made a 10-game MLB stint late in 2025.

The 24-year-old Rodriguez is the rare type of player that is both a catcher and a third baseman. Acquired from the Yankees at last year's Trade Deadline in the Camilo Doval trade, Rodriguez has an .840 OPS in 24 games at Triple-A Sacramento.

The fact that these moves are reportedly coming is hardly surprising given the struggles San Francisco has had this season. After an 0-6 road trip that wrapped up Sunday, the Giants (13-21) head home tied for the third-worst record in the Majors. The offense has put up the least amount of runs (106) and home runs (19) in baseball. These two could help change that.
