WASHINGTON -- Just weeks into his first full season of professional baseball, prospect Phillip Glasser already has compiled a historical performance and earned league honors.

The Single-A Fredericksburg Nationals infielder was named Carolina League Player of the Week after recording four hits, four RBIs, four runs and three stolen bases last Wednesday against Fayetteville.

Glasser’s box score was so remarkable, it had not been accomplished on the Major League level since Joe Carter in 1986 with Cleveland. In the Minors, only three players had achieved it since 2005 -- Oneil Cruz in ‘21; Luis Aviles Jr. in ‘17; and Reggie Willits in ‘05.

For the week of April 16-21, the lefty-hitting Glasser batted .500 (8-for-16) with two doubles, one home run, seven runs, five RBIs, three walks and one strikeout. He was 6-for-6 on stolen-base attempts.

Glasser, 24, has recorded a multihit game in nine of his 12 contests this season. Through 50 at-bats, he is slashing .420/.483/.660 with a 1.143 OPS.

The Ohio native was selected out of the University of Indiana by the Nationals in the 10th round of the 2023 Draft. He hit .357 with seven homers, 19 doubles, 48 RBIs and 14 stolen bases in 63 games his final collegiate season.

Following the Draft, Glasser appeared in 18 games between Rookie ball and Single-A last season, batting .310.

Triple-A Rochester
Outfielder Travis Blankenhorn was honored as International League Player of the Week (April 15-21). He belted five home runs in six games during that stretch. Blankenhorn, 27, appeared in 10 games with the Nationals last season.

Double-A Harrisburg
Righty reliever Tyler Schoff, 25, has opened the season with seven scoreless and walkless appearances. Across 10 innings, he has allowed just three hits to 12 strikeouts with a 0.30 WHIP and a .094 opponents’ batting average.

High-A Wilmington
The Blue Rocks became the first team in the South Atlantic League to win 10 games this season with a victory over Greenville on Saturday. Right-hander Todd Peterson, 26, is 5-for-5 in save opportunities and has not allowed a run in seven appearances.
