July 7th, 2021

After a rain postponement, it’s finally time for the “best of the best” to compete for the championship title of the Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup presented by Nike.

High school all-star teams from Delaware South and Mid Penn have advanced to the top of the Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup bracket and will now play in the tournament’s championship game being held on Tuesday, July 13, 2:00 p.m., at the Phillies MLB Urban Youth Academy at FDR Park. The event is free and open to the public, with the field entrance from Pattison Avenue (off Broad Street).

The area’s top 250 high school softball players have been competing in this 31-game tournament, featuring 16 teams representing 17 different leagues. This is the 16th Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup, with SOL/BAL winning the 2019 tournament (as last year’s tournament was on hiatus due to the pandemic).

The Phillies Softball Carpenter Cup is recognized nationally as one of the finest softball tournaments for high school athletes. It has also been a catalyst for many players to receive scholarships and admission to some of the country’s finest universities.
