Ani Kilambi joined the Phillies as assistant general manager on Nov. 11, 2021. In his role, Kilambi oversees the clubās research department in addition to the clubās use of data in all aspects of organizational decision-making.
Prior to joining the Phillies, Ani worked for the Tampa Bay Rays for seven years from 2015-21. Having spent his first year with the Rays as an intern in the clubās research and development department, he was promoted to assistant, research and development in July 2016 and spent over one year in that role. Later, he was promoted again to analyst, predictive modeling in November 2017, a position he held for one year. In November 2018, he was elevated to assistant director, research and development and served in that role for three years. Finally, he was promoted to director, decision science in November 2021 before joining the Phillies.
Ani is a 2016 graduate of the University of California Berkeley, where he was a double major in statistics and operations research and management science. He currently resides in the Philadelphia area.
