Janzen Blade Tidwell...Attended Loretto High School (Tenn.) with current MLB pitcher Ryan Weathers...Ryan’s father, David, was a coach on the staff at Loretto when Tidwell attended...David Weathers also coached Tidwell on his youth teams and in middle school...Was named the 2019 Tennessee Class A Mr. Baseball...He hit .557 with 35 runs, 30 extra-base hits, six home runs and 15 stolen bases at the plate, while going 8-0 with two saves and 107 strikeouts in 53.0 innings during his junior season...When selected by the Mets in the First-Year Player Draft, Tidwell’s name was announced by former Giants outfielder Rajai Davis.

2023

Combined to go 11-6 with a 3.57 ERA (46 ER/116.0 IP) with 63 walk and 153 strikeouts in 25 starts between Brooklyn (A+) and Binghamton (AA)…Led Mets minor leaguers with 11 wins, and a .210 opponents average, was second in ERA (3.57), strikeouts (153), fourth in innings (116.0) and fifth in WHIP (1.29)…Led all Mets Minor League pitchers with a 31.4% strikeout rate.

2022

Made his professional debut with the FCL Mets before he was transferred to the St. Lucie Mets...Combined to go 0-1 with a 1.93 ERA (2 ER/9.1 IP) with seven walks and 11 strikeouts.
