Bailey dealing with minor left leg issue
CINCINNATI -- Following Saturday's loss to the Pirates, Reds manager Dusty Baker detailed that his pitching staff was banged up and included Homer Bailey's leg as one of the injuries, without going into specifics.
On Sunday, Bailey downplayed that he was hurting much but revealed it involved his left leg -- also without being specific. He is expecting to pitch in the National League Division Series if the Reds advance past Tuesday's Wild Card game against the Pirates.
"I'm all right," Bailey said. "I've been through a lot worse."
Bailey believed the leg issue might have more to do with pitching mechanics and lack of command. He has walked 12 over his last three starts, four in each game.
"It's something so minor, but it's been throwing me off a few inches," Bailey said. "When I went back and looked, so many pitches have missed by two or three inches. I never could figure out what it was. I've got plenty of days to correct it."
