HOUSTON -- Yankees slugger left Friday night’s game at Daikin Park in the sixth inning with right lower leg tightness.

Stanton, who had reached on an RBI single that gave the Yankees a 6-2 lead in the sixth, was at second base and Jazz Chisholm Jr. at first when J.C. Escarra hit a line drive that Houston’s Dustin Harris was unable to corral against the left-field wall. Stanton was halfway between second and third waiting to see if a catch could be made before trotting to third. Stanton was replaced by pinch-runner Randal Grichuk.
