HOUSTON -- Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton left Friday night’s game at Daikin Park in the sixth inning with right lower leg tightness.
Stanton, who had reached on an RBI single that gave the Yankees a 6-2 lead in the sixth, was at second base and Jazz Chisholm Jr. at first when J.C. Escarra hit a line drive that Houston’s Dustin Harris was unable to corral against the left-field wall. Stanton was halfway between second and third waiting to see if a catch could be made before trotting to third. Stanton was replaced by pinch-runner Randal Grichuk.
