The World Trade Center is again partnering with Major League Baseball to host free watch parties for baseball fans, this time for this weekend's Mets-Yankees series at Yankee Stadium that's part of MLB's Rivalry Weekend.
The three-day public event begins Friday at North Oculus Plaza and will feature all three weekend games shown on a large projection screen with speakers. Attendees will be able order food and drinks from Oculus Beer Garden and Westfield World Trade Center shops and restaurants. Lawn games, such as cornhole and Connect Four, will also be available, and a DJ will be on site to offer additional entertainment.
Among other planned activities are a slew of giveaways, including Aaron Judge and Francisco Lindor T-shirts from Homage, rally towels, Mets and Yankees ticket vouchers, MLB logo keychains and more. Fans can also have their photo taken with a World Series trophy.
An "Ask Kait" segment with MLB reporter and content creator Kait Maniscalco is planned Friday, while Mr. and Mrs. Met will be making appearances all three days.
Friday's watch party game -- Juan Soto's first against the Yankees since signing with the Mets this offseason -- is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. ET and will feature the YES Network broadcast, which will also be simulcast on MLB Network. Coverage will include two live hits from the watch party during "MLB Tonight." An MLB Network Podcast will also be broadcast live before the game at 5:30 p.m. ET.
Saturday afternoon's watch party game is set for 1:05 p.m. ET and will feature the SNY broadcast, while Sunday's game is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET and will feature the ESPN "Sunday Night Baseball" broadcast.
All watch parties will be outdoors and are weather permitting. RSVP is recommended but not required, as walk-ins are welcome.
