BALTIMORE -- Red-hot Ryon Healy homered twice to lead a solid Oakland offensive attack in Tuesday's 6-4, series-evening win over the Orioles.
Healy turned in his fourth career multi-homer game -- all of which have come this season -- and extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a pair of blasts off Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez. Healy is now batting .382 (21-for-55) with eight multi-hit games over his last 14 games. The A's third baseman went deep for a solo shot as part of a three-run first inning, before adding a two-run blast in the fifth, his 23rd homer on the year.
"Big game for us," Healy said. "[Jimenez] made a few mistakes, and fortunately we didn't miss those."

The loss drops the Orioles to 4 1/2 games back in the American League Wild Card standings.
"We've talked about it and they're certainly aware of it," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of his team's struggle to get on a winning streak. "It's a very obvious thing to say. They know it. But we're going to have to be consistent in our starting pitching to have that type of momentum and to have those things happen."
Oakland also got a solid outing from starter Paul Blackburn that ended on a sour note. Blackburn was forced out of the game after getting drilled by Timothy Beckham's comebacker in the fifth inning and was later diagnosed with a bruised right hand/wrist. Still, he held the O's to just three hits over four-plus scoreless frames.

The inconsistent Jimenez was charged with five runs -- including Jed Lowrie's first-inning homer -- on nine hits and a walk. The righty has not had a quality start in his past four outings.

Orioles third baseman Manny Machado -- the reigning American League Player of the Week -- began the Orioles' rally with a two-out, two-run blast in the seventh off A's reliever Simon Castro.

Machado was also part of the O's two runs in the eighth, reaching on a walk to load the bases before Jonathan Schoop drove in two runs, bringing his RBI total to 93. But A's closer Blake Treinen escaped further damage by retiring Adam Jones on a grounder to short.

Khris Davis added an insurance run on a homer in the ninth for Oakland, collecting his 500th career hit and snapping an 0-for-20 streak.
"Nobody is harder on Khris Davis than Khris Davis," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "Very rarely do you have to come down on him for anything. We had a couple guys give him some support today, we talked to him a little bit today. He's just gotta remember who he is, because he's got as good of power numbers as anybody in the league, and when you're going through some struggles you have to fight through the negative feelings and remember who you are."

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Treinen bends, doesn't break: The Orioles got more than one baserunner for the first time all night in the eighth inning, via Chris Davis' leadoff walk and Beckham's two-out single. After reliever Chris Hatcher walked Machado, Treinen came on as the third pitcher of the inning. Treinen did allow a bases-loaded two-run single to Schoop, but was able to get Jones -- fresh off a two-homer game -- to ground out to keep the lead intact.

Davis adds insurance: After Baltimore rallied to pull within a run, Davis immediately gave the A's some more wiggle room. He homered one out into the ninth off Orioles reliever Darren O'Day, his 34th long ball of the year.
"I didn't think I got it," Davis said, "and I just got enough of it."

A's: The A's will call up right-hander Daniel Gossett from Triple-A Nashville to start Wednesday's 12:05 p.m. PT series finale in Baltimore. Gossett, who was demoted following his Aug. 2 outing in San Francisco, has a 5.17 ERA in 10 starts for the A's this season.
Orioles: Baltimore will send Dylan Bundy to the mound on Wednesday for the series finale with Oakland at 3:05 p.m. ET. The Orioles are giving Bundy, who last pitched on Aug. 12, extra rest to avoid shutting him down early this season. Bundy won his last start after allowing three runs on seven hits and three walks with 10 strikeouts in six innings against Oakland.
