OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Athletics recalled right-handed pitcher Norge Ruiz from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Ruiz joins the A’s for the second time this year.  He was originally selected on Aug. 19 and made his Major League debut, allowing seven runs, five earned, in 6.0 innings over three appearances.  The 28-year-old right-hander yielded 14 hits but walked just one while striking out nine.  Ruiz was optioned to Las Vegas last Friday and pitched in one game, tossing 1.0 scoreless inning against Sugar Land on Sunday.  He is 5-1 with two saves, a 3.73 ERA and .695 OPS in 31 relief appearances overall with the Aviators.
