Congratulations to pitcher Logan Webb on being named the winner of the 2026 Willie Mac Award.
The Willie Mac Award is annually awarded to the most inspirational player on the Giants, as voted upon by Giants players, coaches, training staff, clubhouse staff and the fans. This season marks the 46th anniversary of the award, which was established in 1980, in honor of legend and Hall of Famer Willie McCovey. “Competitive Spirit, Ability and Leadership” is engraved on the plaque that now honors Webb as well as McCovey.
Webb, who was named a National League All-Star for the third straight season this year, is the first pitcher to win the Willie Mac Award since 2018 (Will Smith), and the first starting pitcher to win the award since Madison Bumgarner in 2014.
The Rocklin, CA, native, who is the longest tenured player on the Giants, made his fifth career Opening Day start this year and was also named the NL’s Pitcher of the Month for June after posting a 3-1 record with a 0.71 ERA over five starts.
Last week, Webb was also named the Giants’ nominee for this year’s Roberto Clemente Award, MLB’s annual recognition of a player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
