SAN FRANCISCO -- Though Andrew McCutchen, Austin Jackson and Evan Longoria haven't played a game yet for the Giants, the club's significant offseason additions sounded at home on Saturday while participating in question-and-answer sessions at FanFest.
McCutchen brought down the house with his response when he and Jackson were asked which opposing team inspires them to perform at their best.
"Somebody I wanted to stick it to every time was the Dodgers," McCutchen said, prompting a Candlestick-worthy roar from the audience as well as a "Beat L.A." chant.

Jackson and McCutchen displayed a natural gift for comedy when they were asked, "How do you feel about seagulls?" As outfielders, they're destined to be joined by plenty of gulls in the late innings of night games.
"Is that going to be a problem? I don't know how to feel about that yet," said Jackson, who has appeared in only three games at AT&T Park during the regular season and postseason.
Through the crowd's rising laughter, Jackson directed a remark that was actually a question toward McCutchen: "But that's a real thing, though."
"That's a real thing," confirmed McCutchen, who started 28 games at AT&T Park during his tenure with the Pirates from 2009-17. "I met Larry the seagull last year. Me and him are pretty cool. He has a little black mark under his eye. Me and him have conversations every now and then."
After playing home games in occasionally subdued conditions during 10 seasons with the Rays, Longoria sounded pleasantly surprised to experience the passion displayed by FanFest attendees.
"This kind of welcome and fanfare, I didn't experience for 10 years," he said.
