SAN FRANCISCO -- Righty reliever Blake Treinen injured his shoulder while warming up in the bullpen during the Dodgers' 4-3 win over the Giants on Saturday afternoon at Oracle Park. Manager Dave Roberts said Treinen's season is over, and he will undergo imaging on his shoulder to determine the extent of the injury.
"I don't know if it was a complete blowout, but really unfortunate," Roberts said. "We're going to get imaging. … But yeah, it's obviously an IL. His season's over. And yeah, unfortunate."
With Treinen set to go on the IL, the Dodgers will call up a fresh arm for their scheduled bullpen game in Sunday's regular-season finale.
Treinen spent more than two months on the injured list with right elbow inflammation earlier this season. When he returned on Sept. 2, he made seven outings but was not used in high leverage. He seemed like an unlikely candidate to make the postseason bullpen as a result, but the Dodgers have lost a veteran depth arm in the wake of his injury.

In 36 appearances this season, Treinen posted a 3.64 ERA with 31 strikeouts against 13 walks in 29 2/3 innings. The 38-year-old right-hander is in the final season of a two-year, $22 million contract that he signed after the 2024 World Series.
