Having tasted the Majors for the first time in 2020, Joey Bart is on a mission to return as soon as possible. A few more performances like Monday night and San Francisco won't have any other choice.

MLB's No. 18 overall prospect homered and drove in two runs while going 4-for-5 during Triple-A Sacramento's 7-6 loss to Reno. Bart's fourth career four-hit game improved his slash line to .349/.396/.604 in 17 games with the River Cats.

Despite missing a little over a week with a sore groin, the No. 2 Giants prospect has let nothing slow him down through the first month of the Minor League season. Bart opened his four-hit night with a single to left field in the second inning and evened the score in the fourth with an opposite-field solo homer. The blast was his first since May 16, a span of eight games and 27 at-bats.

The 24-year-old added an RBI single to left an inning later before equaling his personal best of four hits with a single in the eighth. Looking for a fifth hit in the ninth, Bart grounded out sharply to second. While five hits were out of reach, the performance continued a torrid 2021 for the second overall pick in the 2018 Draft. Bart has hit safely in 12 of the 17 games in which he's gotten an at-bat, including six multi-hit efforts.

The Georgia Tech product has eight extra-base hits and 16 RBIs in 63 at-bats.

A return to the Majors in 2021 is a distinct possibility for Bart, who amassed 103 of his 104 Major League at-bats with San Francisco last season. The backstop garnered one plate appearance for the Giants this season. Overall, Bart has hit .231/.286/.317 with seven extra-base hits and seven RBIs in 34 big league games.
