SAN FRANCISCO -- Logan Webb helped brighten the day of a young Giants fan who is battling cancer on Saturday afternoon at Oracle Park.

After working six innings in a 5-3 loss to the White Sox, Webb sent his game jersey to Bryce Bazor, a senior at Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, Calif., which is near Webb’s hometown of Rocklin.

Bazor was diagnosed with chondroblastic osteosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, forcing him to sit out his senior baseball season. Webb heard about Bazor’s battle on the news and was touched by his story, prompting him to give the teenager a special gift to cap a memorable day at the ballpark.

Bazor also got to meet several Giants, including Webb, and take the field for batting practice on Saturday.

“It was amazing,” Webb said. “It’s tough to see a kid with so much life ahead of him unfortunately battling something that is really terrible.

“It was cool to see the team rallied around him. We’re all very lucky that we’re able to do what we do and be healthy. It’s really sad to see a kid that young dealing with something like that.”
