Netflix teases first MLB broadcast with Opening Night trailer

Opening Night is just two weeks away, and Netflix is getting us in the spirit for a season-opening showdown.

On Wednesday, the streaming service released a special promotional trailer for the MLB Opening Night clash between the Yankees and Giants. First pitch from Oracle Park is set for 8:05 p.m. ET on March 25.

In addition to marking the beginning of the 2026 MLB season, Opening Night will also be Netflix’s first regular-season MLB broadcast, as a part of a three-year media rights agreement that the league formed in November.

“It’s the first game of the season, and we all remember the first,” the trailer says.

Netflix will broadcast MLB’s Opening Night game in 2027 and 2028, while also carrying exclusive coverage of this year’s Home Run Derby and the 2026 Field of Dreams Game on Aug. 13.

The season-opening matchup features plenty of storylines and two teams with lofty expectations. and the Yankees are hopeful that this year will bring an end to a 16-season World Series title drought. Meanwhile, and lead a Giants team eyeing a return to the postseason for the first time since 2021.
