Injury: Right elbow inflammation
Expected return: TBD
Cubs manager Craig Counsell noted on April 15 that Wiggins was dealing with right elbow inflammation after not making his scheduled start on April 10. (ordered by ranking)
No. 6 Sebastian Walcott, SS/3B, Rangers
Injury: Underwent internal brace surgery on right elbow
Expected return: As early as August
It’s good news that the 19-year-old infielder avoided Tommy John surgery, shortening the recovery time. It’s going to be a timeline of about five to six months before he starts hitting, and the fielding will follow. Position players have a shorter rehab timeline for elbow surgery than pitchers with either the internal brace or Tommy John surgery. If Walcott returns in August, it’s conceivable that he could appear in regular-season games at a Minor League affiliate before heading to the Arizona Fall League or a Winter League in the offseason. The southpaw scattered one hit and one unearned run across 3 2/3 innings, although he did walk five. He upped his pitch count to 63 after tossing 44 pitches in his first rehab outing on April 2, coming off discomfort during his a Grapefruit League outing on Feb. 26. (Last updated: April 9)

No. 18 Aidan Miller, SS, Phillies
Injury: Back discomfort
Expected return: Day-to-day
Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said on April 9 that Miller is back to swinging a bat after recurring back soreness prevented the club's top prospect from participating in baseball activities since Feb. 21. The issue first flared up last year for the 2023 first-rounder, who missed the final few games of the 2025 Minor League season and was pulled from participating in the Arizona Fall League due to similar discomfort. The club doesn't have a timetable Miller's return, in part because of the nature of back injuries and the recurring nature of his. Dombrowski is happy with his progress and does not see a reason to rush him; Miller will return to Triple-A Lehigh Valley when he is fully healthy. More » (Last updated: April 9)

Injury: Right wrist surgery
Expected return: Summer 2026

The 21-year-old said he suffered the injury on a swing in his last Spring Training game on Feb. 28. Briceño made an impression in camp, including a home run off a Tarik Skubal slider during live batting practice in February. He batted 2-for-12 with a double and two RBIs in six Grapefruit League games. (Last updated: March 6)
No. 42 Aiva Arquette, SS, Marlins
Injury: Underwent core muscle surgery
Expected return: 4-6 weeks
Miami's 2025 first-rounder sustained a left groin injury during offseason workouts in his native Hawaii and stopped baseball activities with hopes of recovering soon after. When he arrived at Spring Training and restarted his workouts, the pain returned, leading to core muscle surgery to remedy the discomfort. Arquette slashed .242/.350/.323 over 27 contests last season at High-A Beloit. More » (Last updated: Feb. 28)
No. 45 Edward Florentino, OF/1B, Pirates
Injury: Left ankle
Expected return: TBD
Out with a left ankle injury since February, Florentino has resumed baseball activities but is still expected to be out into April. The 19-year-old put together a tremendous 2025 campaign -- his first affiliate action -- slashing .290/.400/.548 with 41 extra-base hits, 16 homers, 59 RBIs and 35 stolen bases in 83 games across two Minor League levels. No. 49 Travis Sykora, RHP, Nationals
Injury: Torn UCL
Expected return: Potentially late 2026

No. 72 Jarlin Susana, RHP, Nationals
Injury: lat surgery
Expected return: TBD
Susana underwent lat surgery the week of Sept. 8. The 22-year-old had been limited to 56 1/3 innings in 2025 due to a Grade 1 UCL sprain in his elbow he suffered on May 4, then a right lat injury suffered on Aug. 30, which ended his season. Susana was a non-roster invite to Nationals big league camp this spring, but he did not compete in Grapefruit League action. (Last updated: March 25)
