Mariners Community All-Stars is a new initiative launched in 2023 with the Seattle Sports Commission in partnership with Microsoft, Amazon and Costco. This program aims to bring baseball and softball back to schools and communities where there has been displacement or disconnection from the game. As part of Community All-Star programming, the Mariners and the Seattle Sports Commission are working alongside Nike RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) programs in the Pacific Northwest, community sports organizations, and Mariners Training Centers to accelerate the clubās mission to expand equitable access and participation in youth baseball and softball.
Mariners Community All-Stars

Throughout 2023, hundreds of volunteers from Microsoft, Amazon and Costco will be working with non-profit partner Playworks to beautify school playgrounds and bring baseball and softball back to the following school sites in Washington:
- May 20: Lowell Elementary, Seattle, WA (Mayorās Day of Service)
- June 17: Leschi Elementary in Seattle, WA
- Fall 2023: Lummi Nation School in Bellingham
- Fall 2023: Manitou Park in Tacoma
- Additional schools to be identified
Volunteers will also support Little League field cleanup projects with the following Little Leagues:
- May 12: Federal Way Little League
- May 26: Kent Little League
- Fall 2023: Soundview Little League (Tacoma)
- Fall 2023: Seattle Central Little League
Programs & Community Events
As a part of the project, each school and Little League site will be provided $10,000 grants to support future play equity programming and/or playground/field needs.
Additionally, beginning earlier this spring and through the summer, Mariners fans in each of the clubās five-state region (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington) will have the chance to try baseball and softball through free, family-friendly Play Ball events and pop-up clinics with instructors from the Mariners Training Center and Softball University.
Each child who attends a Play Ball Event will go home with a Community All-Star branded ballplayer kit with a Mariners branded bat and ball set. There will also be 20 smaller Play Ball pop-up clinics in Washington and Oregon, which will be held at events providing community services to youth such as free lunch and play offerings through parks districts.
