A five-year commitment to nine incoming eighth graders in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties that will offset playing fees, combat disparate playing experiences, provide mentorship and uplift athletes of all identities and backgrounds in our region.

Each year, we team up with MLB Nike RBI programs, community organizations and local teams across our 5-state region for PLAY BALL Weekend. PLAY BALL encourages communities to engage in baseball and softball, whether they’re an experienced player or picking up a bat for the very first time.

Players, alumni and the Mariner Moose visit local elementary schools to play sandlot-style baseball, share fundamentals of the game and highlight the important connection between play and learning.

MLB’s Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program, presented by Nike, is the league’s youth initiative to provide baseball and softball opportunities for young people in underserved communities. We partner with a variety of different regional organizations including Baseball Beyond Borders in Seattle, Friends of Baseball in Portland and Gamers Alaska Nike RBI in Anchorage to provide resources that help young athletes develop on and off the field.
