Brzykcy, ranked as the Nationals’ No. 22 prospect by MLB Pipeline, has made six appearances out of the bullpen (14.29 ERA, 5 2/3 innings). He debuted on Sept. 1 following a recovery from Tommy John surgery.

“We needed a roster spot,” said manager Dave Martinez. “I really felt – forget about the numbers – but him coming back from Tommy John and being able to make it to the Major Leagues, that meant a lot. It was important to try to get him up here and get him some experience. I think he could be a real big factor for us moving forward in the future.”

Adon was originally placed on the 15-day IL on Aug. 28, retroactive to Aug. 25.
