Sandberg hasn't heard anything about future

PHILADELPHIA -- Phillies interim manager Ryne Sandberg reiterated Friday he hasn't heard anything about his future, although it seems a near certainty he will have the interim label shed from his job title in the next couple of weeks.

Sandberg continues to gain high marks. The Phillies are 18-14 since he replaced Charlie Manuel in August, which is tied for the third-best winning percentage in the National League.

"Ryno is positive," Phillies second baseman Chase Utley said. "He's always talking during the game. He's definitely into the game, and guys respect him for that. He's given a lot of guys an opportunity to play, which is nice. So far he's done a great job."
