Kevin Gregg rejoined the Phillies in the newly created position of vice president, baseball communications on Jan. 3, 2022. In this role, the veteran of 16 seasons in Major League Baseball oversees media relations initiatives and strategy for the team’s baseball operations department, as well as club publications. In December 2022, he was named the recipient of Major League Baseball’s Robert O. Fishel Award for public relations excellence.
Kevin began his career in baseball with the Phillies in 2003, completing two years of internships in the merchandising and media relations departments.
He concurrently interned for the Philadelphia 76ers from 2002-05, before joining them full time for two seasons as public relations coordinator. He returned to the Phillies in 2007 and spent six seasons in the media relations department, where he assisted in the staff’s operations for the club’s string of five consecutive National League East division titles from 2007-11, highlighted by the 2008 World Series championship. Following the 2012 season, he joined the Boston Red Sox as director of media relations in January 2013, and was promoted to vice president, media relations five years later. Over his nine years in Boston, he was responsible for all baseball-related communications for the team, including the world championship clubs in 2013 and 2018.
A 1998 graduate of the Episcopal Academy, Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in sport management from James Madison University in 2003. The Philadelphia native is the son of the late Eric Gregg, who worked 23 years as a National League umpire.
Kevin, his wife Stephanie and their sons Oliver and Samuel live in Media, Pa.
