Opened the season on the 15-day Injured List with a right UCL sprain; made three rehab starts between Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk from April 16-26; reinstated on May 2 and started that day against the Yankees; placed on the 15-day Injured List on June 15 with a right ulnar collateral ligament sprain; underwent right elbow UCL reconstruction (Tommy John) with internal brace performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas on June 19, ending his season; transferred to the 60-day Injured List on July 11...Made eight starts, going 2-0 with a 2.75 ERA (12 ER/39.1 IP), allowing 27 hits (2 HR), 12 total runs, 15 walks and three hit-by-pitches with 53 strikeouts...Tossed 7.0 no-hit innings on May 26 at Chicago-AL, walking four with a career-high-tying 11 strikeouts (also: 5/10/22 at STL)...Allowed more than two runs in one of his eight starts, surrendering five runs in 2.2 innings on June 1 vs. Tampa Bay; marked the only outing in which he gave up more than four hits (7 H)...Held opposing hitters to a .188 batting average (27-for-144).
