On Friday, July 16th, the Reds hosted their annual African American Community Night at Great American Ball Park. The special ticket offer included an exclusive Reds Originalitees T-Shirt, presented by Gallery at Gumbo, along with access to the Fioptics Rooftop District, where a live DJ entertained the crowd.
The night began with a ceremony for the African American Community Advocate Award winner, Rico Grant (Seen in the 'Grateful' t-shirt). Rico is a local entrepreneur who has made an impact throughout the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. He is the founder of Paloozanoire, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Black midwestern professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs. Rico is also the Creator and Owner of Gallery by Gumbo, a cultural barbershop and art gallery. And, he is the Executive Director of SoCap Accelerate, an organization committed to bringing the next leaders in health innovation to the forefront, based out of Northern Kentucky University.
AACN also featured the national anthem performed by the prominent local African American singer, Jazmyn Alexis, pictured in the pink dress.
