Cardinals activate Holland from DL; Bowman placed on 10-day DL

The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight's game that they have activated pitcher Greg Holland from the 10-day disabled list and placed pitcher Matt Bowman on the 10-day disabled list with right hand middle finger blisters.

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight's game that they have activated pitcher Greg Holland from the 10-day disabled list and placed pitcher Matt Bowman on the 10-day disabled list with right hand middle finger blisters.
Holland, out since May 26 with a right hip impingement, has missed 22 games. The right-hander made a combined five appearances between Memphis (AAA) and Springfield (AA) during his recent injury rehabilitation assignments, working 5.0 innings, allowing four runs with four strikeouts.
Holland has appeared in 18 games for the Cardinals this season with an 0-2 record and a 9.45 ERA in 13.1 innings.
Bowman, 27, took the loss in last night's extra-inning defeat in Philadelphia. He has made 20 total appearances for St. Louis this season and is 0-2 with a 5.75 ERA. Bowman previously missed 26 games this season while recovering from right hand finger blisters (May 18-June 14).
