The Cardinals swapped relievers with the Nationals on Tuesday, acquiring right-hander in exchange for right-hander Andre Granillo.

Soriano was designated for assignment by the Nationals on Feb. 5. The Cardinals represent the fourth team this winter for Soriano, who was previously DFA’d by the Orioles and Braves. In 24 games with the 2025 Marlins, Soriano recorded an 8.35 ERA over 36 2/3 innings with 36 strikeouts, 19 walks and 10 home runs allowed.

Granillo, 25, made 14 appearances for the Cardinals during his 2025 debut season, posting a 4.71 ERA through 21 innings. He was a 14th-round selection by St. Louis in the 2021 Draft.
