LATEST NEWS

No. 28 Robby Snelling, LHP, Marlins
Injury: Left elbow UCL sprain
Expected return: TBD
Snelling landed on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday, just five days after making his Major League debut. Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said that the southpaw reported some discomfort after a May 12 bullpen session. Imaging revealed a UCL sprain in his throwing elbow, and the team will make further evaluations to determine a timeframe for his return. The 22-year-old had a 1.86 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 29 innings at Triple-A this season and gave up three runs over five innings in his lone big league outing. (Last updated: May 13)

No. 25 Rainiel Rodriguez, C, Cardinals
Promoted to Double-A

The Cardinals’ top hitting prospect climbed three levels at 18 years old during his breakout 2025 season. We’re barely into the second month of the 2026 Minor League season, and the 19-year-old backstop is already on his second club with St. Louis moving him to Double-A Springfield on Monday, MLB.com’s Sam Dykstra confirmed. Rodriguez hit .311/.430/.519 with four homers in 28 games with High-A Peoria before the move. Upon joining the Cards’ Texas League affiliate, Rodriguez will become only the third teenager to play in Double-A this season, joining Top 3 overall prospects Jesús Made and Leo De Vries on that list. The Dominican Republic native has at least plus power at the plate, and that hard contact fuels his standing as the best position-player prospect in the rebuilding St. Louis system. No. 3 Seth Hernandez, RHP, Pirates
Promoted to High-A
After dominating over six starts in his professional debut at Single-A, 19-year-old Hernandez is moving up to High-A Greensboro, MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo confirmed. The sixth overall pick in the 2025 Draft posted a stingy 0.96 ERA with 50 strikeouts over 28 innings for Bradenton. Hernandez sports a legitimate four-pitch mix, with his fastball typically sitting in the upper 90s. His changeup is at least plus, a cambio that elicits swings-and-misses because of its action and his ability to sell it and plays well off the fastball. He has two legitimate high-spin breakers, a hard slider and a 12-to-6 curve with tight and late action to it. (Last updated: May 10)

TOP 100 PROSPECT NEWS
(ordered by ranking)

No. 10 Sebastian Walcott, SS/3B, Rangers
Injury: Underwent internal brace surgery on right elbow
Expected return: As early as August
It’s good news that the 19-year-old infielder avoided Tommy John surgery, shortening the recovery time. It’s going to be a timeline of about five to six months before he starts hitting, and the fielding will follow. Position players have a shorter rehab timeline for elbow surgery than pitchers with either the internal brace or Tommy John surgery. If Walcott returns in August, it’s conceivable that he could appear in regular-season games at a Minor League affiliate before heading to the Arizona Fall League or a Winter League in the offseason. No. 12 Walker Jenkins, OF, Twins
Injury: Left shoulder sprain
Expected return: TBD
The fifth overall pick in the 2023 Draft suffered a grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder when he ran into the wall making a catch while playing for Triple-A St. Paul on May 3. Jenkins was put on the 7-day IL on May 5, but he will be re-evaluated in 10 days when the club will have a clearer read on a timeline for the outfielder’s return. Jenkins is hitting .256/.396/.389 through 25 games at the highest level of the Minors this year. (Last updated: May 5)

No. 16 Aidan Miller, SS, Phillies
Injury: Back discomfort
Expected return: Day-to-day
Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said on April 9 that Miller is back to swinging a bat after recurring back soreness prevented the club's top prospect from participating in baseball activities since Feb. 21. The issue first flared up last year for the 2023 first-rounder, who missed the final few games of the 2025 Minor League season and was pulled from participating in the Arizona Fall League due to similar discomfort. The club doesn't have a timetable Miller's return, in part because of the nature of back injuries and the recurring nature of his. Dombrowski is happy with his progress and does not see a reason to rush him; Miller will return to Triple-A Lehigh Valley when he is fully healthy. More » (Last updated: April 9)

No. 19 Luis Peña, SS, Brewers
Injury: Hospitalized for overheating
Expected return: TBD
Despite early reports that Peña would return to the lineup this week, the 19-year-old still hasn't played since April 22. According to Brewers general manager Matt Arnold, Peña is now set to see a neurologist on May 3 for further evaluation as the team works to rule out all possible risks. Peña was hospitalized April 22 after he passed out in the High-A Wisconsin dugout during game action. He was administered IV fluids at the hospital and showed improvement, leading to him being discharged the next morning. To date, all tests have come back normal. (Last updated: May 1)

No. 40 Travis Sykora, RHP, Nationals
Injury: Torn UCL
Expected return: Potentially late 2026
After an MRI unveiled a torn UCL, the right-hander underwent UCL reconstruction last August. The 21-year-old had been one of the Minor Leagues' most dominant pitchers last season, registering a 1.79 ERA across 12 starts while reaching Double-A. (Last updated: Feb. 26)

No. 51 Tyler Bremner, RHP, Angels
Injury: Illness
Expected return: TBD
Bremner was removed from his start for High-A Tri-City on May 5 for precautionary reasons as he deals with fatigue stemming from an illness. The right-hander totaled 34 pitches and recorded three strikeouts across 1 1/3 innings before being lifted. Across five starts this season, the second overall pick from the 2025 Draft has posted a 1.50 ERA with 28 strikeouts in 18 frames. (Last updated: May 5)

No. 54 Emmanuel Rodriguez, OF, Twins
Injury: Left thumb
Expected return: TBD
Rodriguez sustained a left thumb injury while sliding back to first base on a pickoff attempt during Triple-A St. Paul's contest on May 1. The club officially placed him on the 7-day injured list on May 6. The 23-year-old missed time in 2024 due to a right thumb sprain, while other injuries (knee, oblique) have long sidetracked his progress. Through 25 games this season, he has delivered a .923 OPS. No. 62 Jarlin Susana, RHP, Nationals
Injury: Lat surgery
Expected return: TBD
Susana underwent lat surgery the week of Sept. 8. The 22-year-old had been limited to 56 1/3 innings in 2025 due to a Grade 1 UCL sprain in his elbow he suffered on May 4, then a right lat injury suffered on Aug. 30, which ended his season. Susana was a non-roster invite to Nationals big league camp this spring, but he did not compete in Grapefruit League action. (Last updated: March 25)

No. 67 Josue Briceño, C/1B, Tigers
Injury: Right wrist surgery
Expected return: Summer 2026
Briceño said he expects to miss “a few months” after undergoing surgery to repair the extensor carpi ulnaris subsheath in his right wrist. The 21-year-old said he suffered the injury on a swing in his last Spring Training game on Feb. 28. Briceño made an impression in camp, including a home run off a Tarik Skubal slider during live batting practice in February. He batted 2-for-12 with a double and two RBIs in six Grapefruit League games. (Last updated: March 6)

No. 70 Dax Kilby, SS, Yankees
Injury: Hamstring
Expected return: TBD
The 39th overall pick in last year's Draft hasn't gotten in game action this season due to a lingering hamstring injury. The 19-year-old is expected to begin his campaign with Single-A Tampa after coming off the injured list. Kilby posted a slash line of .353/.457/.441 with 16 stolen bases, 19 runs scored and nine RBIs over the first 18 games of his career for the Tarpons last season after being taken in the first round of the Draft. (Last updated: April 19)

No. 81 River Ryan, RHP, Dodgers
Injury: Hamstring
Expected return: TBD
Ryan was placed on the 7-day injured list on April 17 due to a hamstring issue. Injuries have sidetracked the 27-year-old throughout his pro career, most recently when Tommy John surgery knocked him out for the entirety of the 2025 season. Ryan has 10 strikeouts through seven innings across two starts this year for Triple-A Oklahoma City. (Last updated: April 17)

No. 84 Kayson Cunningham, SS, D-backs
Injury: Concussion
Expected return: Mid-to-late May
Cunninham landed on Single-A Visalia's 7-day injured list on May 8 with a concussion. The D-backs are hopeful that their 2025 first-rounder will miss the minimum amount of time and return after a week. Through 25 games this season, the 19-year-old is slashing .394/.487/.485 with more walks (18) than strikeouts (15). (Last updated: May 8)

No. 90 Jaxon Wiggins, RHP, Cubs
Injury: Right elbow inflammation
Expected return: TBD
Cubs manager Craig Counsell noted on April 15 that Wiggins was dealing with right elbow inflammation after not making his scheduled start on April 10. The 24-year-old was placed on the Minor League injured list due to lingering soreness, which the Cubs are hoping is just a minor issue. Wiggins last pitched on April 4 for Triple-A Iowa, and he had made only two starts this season prior to the move to the IL. He posted a 5.63 ERA over eight innings, striking out 10 and walking five.
