D-backs go yard four times to best the Crew
MILWAUKEE -- The D-backs hit four home runs, including shortstop Nick Ahmed's go-ahead solo shot in the eighth with two outs off reliever Jonathan Broxton for a 7-5 win over the Brewers on Friday night at Miller Park.
Two of the other three homers came off the bats of right fielder Ender Inciarte and left fielder David Peralta in Arizona's two-run third inning. Both left the park on the first pitch of the at-bat against Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson. Center fielder A.J. Pollock added insurance runs in the ninth with a two-run shot. Brewers' pitchers have now allowed 64 homers this season, second to only the San Diego Padres, who surrendered 66 entering Friday's game.
"It's a tough place to pitch I'll tell you, this ballpark," D-backs manager Chip Hale said. "You saw the game. We got up, they came back."

D-backs relievers Daniel Hudson, Oliver Perez, Addison Reed and Brad Ziegler allowed just one run after the fifth inning to secure Arizona's seventh win in 11 games, and send Milwaukee to a sixth straight loss.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Getting out of trouble: Arizona's Reed was taken out of his closer's role a few weeks ago, but the right-hander pitched in a crucial spot coming in with the bases loaded and one out in the seventh. "He did a great job," Hale said of Reed. "Used his slider and his fastball, located them."
Lind shows life: Adam Lind hit a 2-2, 96-mph fastball from D-backs starter Rubby De La Rosa off the left-field facade in the third inning to tie the game at 3. The homer and RBIs were Lind's first since May 19 at Detroit. He was 2-for-24 (.083) in his last seven games entering Friday.

Tacking them on: The D-backs gave themselves a cushion by scoring a pair of runs in the ninth on Pollock's two-run homer. After suffering two walk-off losses in their three-game set with the Cardinals, the extra runs gave Arizona a little breathing room.

Leadoff GoGo: Carlos Gomez ripped a leadoff home run into the Brewers' bullpen to put Milwaukee on the scoreboard. The 409-foot solo shot was his second homer to lead off a game this season and ninth of his career. His last came on May 18 at Detroit.

D-backs outfielder Peralta's third-inning homer came on the first pitch, making Peralta 7-for-14 when he puts the first pitch of an at-bat in play.
UPON REVIEW
With one out in the sixth and Chris Owings at third, pinch-hitter Mark Trumbo hit a line drive that second baseman Luis Sardinas jumped and nabbed. Sardinas threw to third to double off Owings. The D-backs challenged the ruling on the field and after a 2:04 review the call on the field was confirmed, a critical moment for Nelson and the Brewers in a tie game.

Ryan Braun hit a ground ball down the third-base line in the ninth inning and was called out on a close play at first base after D-backs third baseman Yasmany Tomas made a barehanded grab and throw. The Brewers challenged the ruling on the field, but the call was confirmed. Counsell has now made 12 replay challenges this season and is 9-3.

D-backs: Jeremy Hellickson will get the start for the D-backs on Saturday at 1:10 p.m. MT at Miller Park. Hellickson has pitched well in his last two starts, going 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA.
Home team: Starter Kyle Lohse will toe the rubber for the Brewers on Saturday in the second of a three-game series against the D-backs at Miller Park. The right-hander's 5.80 ERA this season is nearly a run and a half higher than his career average (4.32). His first pitch is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. CT.
