Playing in a city so defined by its history, the next generation of baseball's stars will put the sport's future on full display.
The 2026 All-Star Futures Game rosters were announced Wednesday morning with 38 of the 50 selected players on the American and National League teams coming from MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects list, including nine from the Top 10 alone. Nineteen different clubs will have their No. 1 prospects at the event.
This year's edition of the prospect showcase will be played at noon ET on Sunday, July 12, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia as part of All-Star Week. The game will air exclusively on NBC with Melanie Newman, Yonder Alonso, Sam Dykstra and Sande Charles calling the action.
The National League side is highlighted by a pair of No. 1s. Brewers shortstop Jesús Made heads to Philly as the No. 1 overall prospect in baseball, while Nationals shortstop Eli Willits will join him one year after Washington selected him with the first pick of the 2025 Draft. Dodgers outfielder Josue De Paula, the No. 4 overall prospect, will look to become the first repeat winner of the Larry Doby MVP award after earning that honor last year with a three-run homer in the NL's 4-2 win in Atlanta. Pirates righty Seth Hernandez (MLB No. 6) brings star power to the NL's pitching staff. Fans might remember his 102.4 mph fastball from Spring Breakout in March, and since then, he’s become the first Minor League pitcher to reach 100 strikeouts in 2026.
The American League won’t be lacking for arms either, specifically those from the Seattle system. Mariners lefty Kade Anderson (MLB No. 5) and righty Ryan Sloan (MLB No. 8) have been dominant all season together at Double-A Arkansas and could put on a show as teammates again in Philly. Sticking in the AL West, No. 2 overall prospect Leo De Vries will lead the bats and could be joined in a loaded AL infield by Red Sox shortstop Franklin Arias (MLB No. 7) and White Sox third baseman/shortstop Caleb Bonemer (MLB No. 16), among others. Rays breakout outfielder Theo Gillen (MLB No. 9) rounds out this year’s group of Top 10 representatives.
The Futures Game will again be seven innings. After last year's win in Atlanta, the NL improved to 4-1-1 since the event changed from a U.S-World format to its current AL-NL matchup in 2019. Phillies legends Larry Bowa (AL) and Shane Victorino (NL) will manage the two sides this year. Billy Wagner, coming off his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame last year, will serve as the NL pitching coach.
