The White Sox are acquiring right-hander José Urquidy from the Pirates, the club announced on Sunday night.
Urquidy had a 8.53 ERA in six appearances with the Pirates and was designated for assignment by Pittsburgh on Friday. The 31-year-old right-hander has a 4.07 ERA in 86 career games, most of which came with the Astros from 2019-23. Urquidy underwent his second career Tommy John surgery in 2024 and spent time with the Tigers in 2025.

In exchange for Urquidy, the White Sox sent right-hander Felix Doroteo to the Pirates. The 21-year-old Doroteo had a 4.50 ERA in 18 innings with the White Sox’s ACL team.
