Injury: Lumbar disk inflammation

Expected return: Before All-Star break
Status: Did not pitch all spring while dealing with a back issue that required an injection. Also underwent an appendectomy. Pitched a scoreless inning with one hit and a strikeout for the Rookie-level FCL Rays on July 10. (Last updated July 10)
LHP Steven Matz
Injury: Left ankle sprain
IL date: June 25 (15-day IL, retroactive to June 24)
Expected return: July
Status: Allowed five runs on six hits in two innings on June 23 while dealing with sore ankle. Was placed on IL two days later. Began rehab stint with Triple-A Durham on July 9, allowing a run on three hits with a strikeout while recording two outs on 25 pitches. (Last updated July 9) More >>

Injury: Left shoulder inflammation
IL date: March 24 (60-day IL, retroactive to March 23, transferred from 10-day IL on May 27)
Expected return: Possibly July
Status: Initially sidelined by a right shoulder injury. Had rehab assignment stalled by sprained ankle April 11, then shut down May 12 due to left shoulder inflammation. Started rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on June 30, played July 2 and DH'd on July 7 and 9. (Last updated July 9)

Injury: Hernia
IL date: May 17 (10-day IL, retroactive to May 16)
Expected return: Possibly July
Status: Had rehab assignment transferred to Triple-A Durham on June 30. Went 0-for-4 and played six innings in right field on July 2. Returned to Durham's lineup and homered on July 7, walked and played right July 9. (Last updated July 9)
RHP Jesse Scholtens
Injury: Right wrist strain

Status: Felt soreness while pitching on May 25. Imaging revealed mild tendon inflammation. Threw 29 pitches over three innings in a rehab start for the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Rays on July 7. (Last updated July 7)

Injury: Right shoulder impingement, subscapularis strain

Injury: Right flexor strain, elbow surgery

Status: Underwent surgery to repair a right elbow flexor strain on Aug. 8, 2025. Faced hitters in live batting practice for the first time on June 30. Will soon join Rookie-level Florida Complex League Rays to begin a rehab assignment. (Last updated July 6)
RHP Jonathan Heasley
Injury: Right elbow stress reaction

Status: After being designated for assignment on May 29 following an outing on May 27, Heasley was returned to the roster on June 2 due to an injury he suffered while active with the Rays and placed on the 15-day IL with no timeline for his return. RHP Ryan Pepiot
Injury: Right hip inflammation

Expected return: Spring Training 2027
Status: Underwent season-ending surgery on May 13. Multiple exams revealed "normal" wear and tear on labrum and femoroacetabular impingement, which limited his leg's range of motion.
