Mariners outright RHP Chasen Bradford, INF Ryon Healy and RHP Connor Sadzeck to AAA Tacoma

SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:

  • Chasen Bradford, RHP, outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma.
  • Ryon Healy, INF, outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma.
  • Connor Sadzeck, RHP, outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma.

Seattle’s 40-man roster remains full at 40 players.

Bradford, 30, was 1-for-1 in save opportunities while posting a 4.86 ERA (9 ER, 16.2 IP) in 12 relief appearances with the Mariners last season. He underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on August 15 in New York. He was placed on the Injured List twice in 2019: April 9-22 with right shoulder inflammation and June 3 through the end of the season with a strained right forearm (transferred to the 60-day IL on June 23).

Bradford has appeared in parts of 3 Major League seasons with the Mets (2017) and Mariners (2018-19). He was claimed off waivers by the Mariners from the Mets on Jan. 19, 2018.

Healy, 27 (turns 28 on January 10), hit .237 (40x169) with 24 runs, 16 doubles, 7 home runs and 26 RBI in 47 games with the Mariners last season. He underwent right hip debridement surgery on Aug. 6 in Palo Alto, California; the surgery was performed by Dr. Marc Safron. He was originally placed on the 10-day Injured List with lower back inflammation on May 21 and was transferred to the 60-day IL on July 26.

Healy was originally selected by Oakland in the 3rd round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of the University of Oregon. He has appeared in parts of 4 Major League seasons with the Athletics (2016-17) and Mariners (2018-19). He was acquired by Seattle from Oakland in exchange for Emilio Pagán (rhp) and Alexander Campos (inf) on Nov. 15, 2017.

Sadzeck, 28, was 0-1 with 1 save (in 2 opportunities) while posting a 2.66 ERA (7 ER, 23.2 IP) in 20 relief appearances with the Mariners last season. He underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on October 2 in Dallas, Texas; the surgery was performed by Dr. Keith Meister. He was originally placed on the 10-day Injured List with right elbow inflammation on June 4 (retro to 6/3) and was transferred to the 60-day IL on July 27. He was acquired by Seattle from Texas in exchange for minor leaguer Grant Anderson (rhp) on April 1.

Sadzeck has appeared in parts of 2 Major League seasons with the Rangers (2018) and Mariners (2019).
