Gentry's clutch catch 'an instinctual thing'

Orioles outfielder robs Rosario of homer in 2nd inning

March 29th, 2018

BALTIMORE -- made the Orioles' Opening Day roster because of his speed and defense. He didn't waste much time showing off either of those skills.
Gentry made a terrific leaping grab at the right-field fence to rob Twins outfielder in the second inning of Thursday's 3-2 walk-off win (11) over Minnesota on Opening Day at Camden Yards. Gentry, who hustled back to the wall, perfectly timed the jump to seal the highlight-reel grab and save starter a run.
"Off the bat, I was tracking it and it was kind of an instinctual thing," Gentry said. "Just ended up in the glove and it was a big moment in the game. I was definitely excited I was able to make the play and be a part of Opening Day."
It was the first out of the inning, with Bundy retiring on a fly ball and striking out to keep the game scoreless.
