Orioles fans will be able to watch games in person again this spring. The club announced Friday that Ed Smith Stadium will operate at 25 percent capacity when its Spring Training schedule opens Feb. 27 in Sarasota, Fla.

The Orioles plan to make 1,833 tickets available for each of their 14 spring home games, which run through March 29. The club will implement “pod” seating throughout the ballpark to ensure proper social distancing of at least six feet between groups, and will require all fans to adhere to the club’s health and safety policies while at the stadium. These include wearing CDC-approved masks (covering the nose and mouth) at all times, and paying only with credit or debit cards (no cash) to limit touch points.

Social distancing practices and enhanced security measures will also be enforced upon entry and throughout the ballpark, per the team.

The Orioles will not travel to the east coast of Florida this spring as part of MLB’s revised plan to mitigate travel due to the pandemic. Instead, they’ll play 28 games against mostly American League and National League East clubs, many of which also train along Florida’s Gulf Coast. Their home schedule opens Feb. 28 against the Pirates and includes 10 afternoon games, all beginning at 1:05 p.m. ET, and four night games, each slated to begin at 6:05 p.m. The O’s Grapefruit League schedule concludes March 29 against Tampa Bay.
