2018 New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week to kick off

The two participants in the 2018 New Era Pinstripe Bowl - the University of Miami and the University of Wisconsin - will hit the streets of New York City in the upcoming days to take part in New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week activities.

The two participants in the 2018 New Era Pinstripe Bowl - the University of Miami and the University of Wisconsin - will hit the streets of New York City in the upcoming days to take part in New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week activities. Special events, promotions and community outreach will take place throughout the week to once again create an unforgettable experience for fans, families, students and staff.
Scheduled visits to noteworthy New York City landmarks will include One World Observatory, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, the New York Stock Exchange, Radio City Music Hall and more.
On Christmas morning, Miami and Wisconsin will take in the unique sights of One World Observatory and visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Later that evening, each institution and their traveling parties will enjoy the acclaimed Radio City Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.
On Wednesday, December 26, representatives from the New Era Pinstripe Bowl and each institution will ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Later that day, Wisconsin will visit the Pediatric Cancer Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering, while Miami conducts a football clinic with local Bronx youth at Yankee Stadium.
The night will conclude with the celebratory lighting of the Empire State Building in Miami and Wisconsin colors.
Throughout the week, each school's traveling party will take part in a variety of activities including ice skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park, brunch at Tavern on the Green and welcome receptions at Yankee Stadium and Brasserie Ruhlmann.
The week of events all lead up to a scheduled 5:15 p.m. (EST) kickoff at Yankee Stadium on Thursday, December 27.

Now in his fourth year at Wisconsin, head coach Paul Chryst has guided the Badgers to their 17th consecutive bowl game appearance, the longest active streak in the Big Ten and fifth-longest active streak in the FBS. Wisconsin finished the regular season with a 7-5 record (5-4, Big Ten), and will be making its first appearance in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl and at Yankee Stadium. Under Chryst's leadership, Wisconsin is 3-0 in bowl games.
Head coach Mark Richt is in his third season at Miami, having guided his alma mater to a 7-5 record (4-4, ACC) this season. The Hurricanes will be making their sixth consecutive bowl game appearance and first appearance in both the New Era Pinstripe Bowl and at the current Yankee Stadium. The Hurricanes played once at the original Yankee Stadium, in the 1962 Gotham Bowl, losing to Nebraska, 36-34.

Established in 2010, the New Era Pinstripe Bowl has featured some of the most memorable moments in recent college football history. Known as "New York's Bowl Game," it is played at the world-renowned Yankee Stadium, which is home to the New York Yankees, New York City Football Club and many other sporting, cultural and business events. The 2018 New Era Pinstripe Bowl will take place on Thursday, December 27, at 5:15 p.m. (EST), featuring the University of Wisconsin from the Big Ten Conference and University of Miami from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
