The Red Sox on Monday agreed to a Minor League contract with infielder . The club also added catcher and right-handers and to the Spring Training roster.

He proved to be a strong defensive second baseman, winning a National League Gold Glove Award in '22.

The Rockies declined to tender Rodgers a contract following the 2024 campaign, and he signed with the Astros in February. He appeared in 43 games for Houston last season, slashing .191/.266/.278 with two home runs in 128 plate appearances.

Over the years, Rodgers has been hampered by a variety of injuries, including hip and left oblique issues in 2025.
