With the MLB Draft and Trade Deadline in the rearview mirror, MLB Pipeline's prospect rankings underwent a full renovation this week.
The update added dozens of new draftees and 2026 breakout performers, but one thing -- specifically when it comes to the Top 100 -- stands out: The sheer number of highly ranked teenage prospects.
On the Top 100 Prospects list alone, 28 teens are featured. Among that group are four of the Top 10 prospects in all of baseball, including three of the top four and each of the top two.

With this in mind, Jason Ratliff, Jonathan Mayo and Sam Dykstra (filling in for Jim Callis) decided to construct an "All-Teen" team on the latest MLB Pipeline Podcast. They ran through each position -- taking some liberties by spreading out the crop of shortstops -- chose the top teen and gave their reasoning for each pick. Here's the squad (all stats entering Saturday):
C: Rainiel Rodriguez (STL No. 1/MLB No. 18)
Born: 1/4/2007 (19)
Season stats: 94 G, .301 AVG, .916 OPS, 74 R, 18 HR, 62 RBI, 10 SB
Dykstra: "There was a brief lull at Springfield in terms of numbers as he learned to acclimate himself to Double-A pitching, and ever since then it's been really stellar.
"He's really controlled at the plate. He's got a strong arm behind it. ... He's a Double-A bat and maybe a High-A catcher, but I think he's going to come around enough. And then, with that slugging ability, even at just 5-foot-10, he hits absolute rockets."
1B: Josiah Hartshorn (CHC No. 1/MLB No. 39)
Born: 2/2/2007 (19)
Season stats: 102 G, .280 AVG, .907 OPS, 73 R, 18 HR, 94 RBI, 10 SB
Dykstra: "At the [MLB All-Star] Futures Game, I think he surprised a lot of people with just how physical he is already. I think he got to the High-A level quicker than any other high school pick out of last year's Draft, quicker than Eli Willits even, because the Cubs just realized this guy needs to be pushed.
"We've got him as a 55 hit, 55 power, as a switch-hitter, so kind of well-rounded as far as that goes."
2B: Eli Willits (WSH No. 1/MLB No. 4)
Born: 12/9/2007 (18)
Season stats: 92 G, .272 AVG, .904 OPS, 91 R, 13 HR, 63 RBI, 52 SB
Dykstra: "Of anybody we're going to talk about here, I feel most confident in saying that he's going to stick at short because the defensive actions there are so good. It's an above average arm. He's an exceptional athlete.
"I think the thing that surprised a lot of people to this point is that the power has come along quicker than people thought. ... If you look at the average exit velos, they're still not stellar, but he's ahead of the curve and I think he is somebody who could get to 15-18 homers in a Major League season. ... This is a real five-tool potential guy for the Nats."
SS: Jesús Made (MIL No. 1/MLB No. 1)
Born: 5/8/2007 (19)
Season stats: 101 G, .282 AVG, .814 OPS, 77 R, 13 HR, 78 RBI, 32 SB
Dykstra: "It's always been, since his days in the [Dominican Summer League], plus power potential, plus hit potential. He threw a ball above 100 mph earlier this summer at Double-A Biloxi, so we know the arm is there as well.
"If you want to get concerned that he doesn't have an OPS above .900, fine, but this is long term projection and Made is right now looking like a potential superstar in Milwaukee."
3B: Leo De Vries (ATH No. 1/MLB No. 2)
Born: 10/11/2006 (19)
Season stats: 93 G, .290 AVG, .836 OPS, 63 R, 13 HR, 55 RBI, 34 SB
Mayo: "I think at some point next year he's going to be ready to help the big league team out. ... He's starting to get to some more of that impact. Keep in mind that he turns 20 in October and has been in Double-A the entire year.
"Now, he's caught up to the league and showing what he's capable of offensively."
OF: Edward Florentino (PIT No. 2/MLB No. 35)
Born: 11/11/2006 (19)
Season stats: 84 G, .226 AVG, .823 OPS, 69 R, 20 HR, 63 RBI, 9 SB
Mayo: "He has not had the year that I think a lot of people were hoping for. He kind of had this breakout last year, and everyone was excited to see what he might do [at High-A] Greensboro, which is very hitter friendly. He had an ankle injury to start the year and it slowed him out of the gate.
"There is no reason to not be bullish about what he is capable of doing, even if it hasn't all come together. The power has shown up ... but this is a guy who has a chance to hit for average and power."
OF: Eric Booth Jr. (BAL No. 1/MLB No. 40)
Born: 7/4/2008 (18)
Season stats: 3 G, .375 AVG, .958 OPS, 2 R, 0 HR, 1 RBI, 0 SB
Mayo: "This is our first [2026] draftee that we're putting on the list. ... Really exciting toolsy player from Mississippi. He's got at least [70-grade] speed. He improved his overall game. He's not quite as raw as people thought."
OF: Roldy Brito (COL No. 2/MLB No. 55)
Born: 4/8/2007 (19)
Season stats: 103 G, .318 AVG, .859 OPS, 82 R, 10 HR, 74 RBI, 35 SB
Mayo: "He jumped on the scene, particularly last year, by hitting his way from the Arizona Complex League to [Single-A] Fresno, had a .960 OPS there over 84 games. This year, he's continued to hit.
"He does not swing-and-miss a lot. He can get a little jumpy sometimes. ... When we were doing feedback on this new Top 100, people were excited about the toolset from outside the organization as well."
DH: Grady Emerson (TB No. 1/MLB No. 10)
Born: 2/21/2008 (18)
Season stats: N/A
Dykstra: "It's at least a plus hit tool from the left side. He is somebody who was the runner-up in last year's National High School Home Run Derby on the big stage, so we know that there's power in there.
"He's also another guy who is extremely athletic, above average runner, plus arm, plus defender at shortstop, most likely going to stick there. I feel like the Rays have been waiting to have this type of high-level prospect at such a premium position."
RHP: Kendry Chourio (KC No. 1/MLB No. 54)
Born: 10/1/2007 (18)
Season stats: 17 G, 78 2/3 IP, 2.06 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, 79 K
Dykstra: "Last year he was on an absolute rocket ship and did the rare move of going from the Dominican Summer League to stateside within a season. ... The fastball is 95-97 mph. It's a real easy velocity. Then he's got a curveball and changeup to get some chase and keep the strikeouts moving.
"Everything right now is just supremely easy coming out of the hand, and he fills up the strike zone."
LHP: Gio Rojas (TEX No. 3/MLB No. 97)
Born: 6/29/2007 (19)
Season stats: N/A
Mayo: "He is an exciting combination of projection and athleticism. He throws strikes. He has three pitches, two of which are plus now. His fastball touches 98 mph, it's got a ton of life and he commands it well. Really, really good low 80s sweeping slider that serves as his out pitch. It would not shock me if that changeup ends up being plus, just because he's got a really good feel for pitching.
"The issues he has are very small, minor mechanical ones that will be addressed once he gets to the pro side."
