NEW YORK -- The Yankees have partnered with the New York City Board of Elections to host training for Bronx poll workers on four consecutive days in Yankee Stadium’s Great Hall, beginning on Tuesday.

The 31,000-square-foot area along the stadium’s first-base side will be used to provide space for approximately 200 poll workers while maintaining appropriate distancing. The Board of Elections is training poll workers in the Bronx to serve in early voting and on Election Day, Nov. 3.

“The Yankees are excited to extend their commitment to the local community around Yankee Stadium with this new partnership with the Board of Elections in the city of New York,” said Brian Smith, Yankees senior vice president of corporate/community relations. “Opening our building for poll worker training will facilitate the ability of Bronx residents to participate in the upcoming election and increase their opportunity for civic engagement. Our organization is honored to be able to contribute to this process.”

The New York City Board of Elections trains nearly 10,000 poll workers in the Bronx annually.

“On behalf of the voters of the city of New York, we thank the Yankees organization for their commitment to the community and improving the voter experience,” said Michael J. Ryan, the board's executive director. “This partnership will allow for an additional 200 poll workers to have the opportunity to be trained and prepared for the upcoming election.”
